Newsletter update from me.
My new newsletter is now hosted here on Substack and it's free to read. Writing, recommendations for books and travel, historical days out...it's all in here.
Book Clubs and Sneak peeks…
I spend too much time on social media so if you’re one of the wonderful ones who engages with me on Instagram or Facebook (the only two social media outlets I really use) then keep doing that because I’ll still be there. But from now on, I’ll be present in your inboxes too, building a lovely community of readers, and offering sneak peaks into my writing and plotlines. We can chat in a bit more detail rather than just a quick photo here and there.
And what else…? I’ll be hosting a Book Club (not just my books obviously!) so watch this space…
And I know lots of you love history and secret historical finds—my absolute catnip. And so I’ll hunter-gather fun facts and days out for you, how they relate to my writing and any upcoming news from me. I’ll post recommendations that you send me too. Been somewhere wonderful or read something fantastic? Let me know and I’ll share the info around in a future post.
For now, I’m here recommending this delightful novel, House of Shadows by Pamela Hartshorne. A twisty, time slip novel with a difference with our main character waking up one day to find she has memories of a woman from the Tudor age deeply embedded within her. And so a mystery of a missing woman from the past begins… If you’ve read it, drop me a line and let me know. What did you think? And…do you have any recommendations? What have you been reading recently? Let’s start thinking about a book club together.
What’s new from me?
I’ve signed a contract with Century, which is part of Penguin publishing for two further Elle Cook novels! Elle is my contemporary fiction name and The Wedding Game is out in April 2025, followed by a fourth Elle Cook novel a year later.
I’ll send a glimpse of the cover when I have it in an upcoming newsletter. It’s gorgeous and has something very wedding-y on the cover. The Wedding Game is available to pre-order here for just £1.99. What a bargain.
Historical Fiction update
Readers of my historical fiction will be pleased to know I’m mid way through edits of a brand new series set around a country house in Cornwall. I can’t wait to share more info with you soon. For now three books are in the pipeline featuring a set of siblings in a rambling country house in present day and their counterparts in the past. I’m so excited about this, my very first historical series. It’s been so much fun to write. And…everyone loves Cornwall.
Would love to be part of a book club. My recommendation would be anything from Elizabeth Elgin, a wonderful war time writer who lived through the era.
I have a suggestion for a new product called
"Wicked and rusty brownies"
A brownies with whipped cream and macadamia nut and fudge
